What are some basic hair tips to keep hair healthy and shinny?

I have a few suggestions for healthy shiny hair.

Only shampoo every other day. Shampooing every day dries out hair and removes its natural oils.

Leave conditioner in for up to 5 minutes before rinsing.

Use a deep conditioner occasionally. I suggest Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment. One application lasts me up to 4 months. It's like getting a new head of hair.

Massage your scalp with jojoba oil once a month. This will stimulate hair growth and jojoba oil is GREAT for your hair.

One more thing and this is important if you want to keep your hair healthy and strong. If you don't have to use a hot styling tool, then don't! Try to avoid straighteners and blow drying. They really ravage your hair. If you must use them, make sure to use a protective serum such as John Frieda's Frizz Ease Thermal Serum.

Hope this helps!

Princess's suggestions are great! I use a cold water rinse everytime and it leaves my hair really clean and shiny. What are some basic hair tips to keep hair healthy and shinny?
I have really shiny, healthy, long hair.

Even if your hair isn't damaged, use shampoo %26amp; conditioner for dry/damaged hair. It gives your hair wayyy more moisturizers, and vitamins. After your done washing your hair, put the water on as cold as you can, or as cold as you can stand it, and rinse your hair for at least thirty seconds. When you blow dry your hair, make sure you put your blow dryer on cool after your done. Try not to use heat on your hair everyday, and don't dye/bleach/highlight your hair all the time either. If you do use heat quite a bit, get a deep conditioner and do that a couple times a week. I use Neutrogena Deep Conditioner. Make sure you don't mix it with your regular conditoner. Taking Omega 3 vitamins helps maintain healthy skin, nails, %26amp; hair too.

dove shampoo%26amp; conditioner every day.

once in a while, if you're going to use a heated straightener or curler, you can do a cool vinegar rinse at the end of your shower to make the hair look shiny, and not dull from the heat of the tool.
shower everyday or skip a day every once in a while. wash your hair with some basic cleaning shampoo and use a shine conditioner. i use suave brilliant shine conditioner and it works really well
Taking a shower every day..........that's as basic as it gets = )
I use Olive Oil, twice a week, I smooth it on heavily for about two hours then Shampoo it out.
dont run your fingers through your hair constantly. it puts grease in your hair and can cause problems.
