My hair is a little past shoulder length, very kinky at the roots, wavy underneath, and curly everywhere else. It gets really frizzy and i've been searching for a good product to use that doesn't weigh it down, make it crispy or crunchy, or make it look oily. OH, and i have very dark hair, think of the color of old dark chocolate? And i want highlights or low-lights, and i have beige skin with yellow undertones. any color suggestions also?Any hair tips for a mix of kinky curly and wavy hair?
Having vertical layers in your hair helps to even out the curl and takes out the bulk. My favorite product for curly hair (and I have used a lot) is Redken curl cream. It isn't oily, defines and manages curls more than a mousse, and isn't crunchy and heavy like a gel. I would do a nice caramel/wheat highlight ( a low light really won't show up much - even one with a different tone such as red - you will see a bit of it but it won't show much) something 2-3 levels above your natural color.
