Anyone have any straightening hair tips?

i have sorta thick blonde hair, its kinda wavy but i always get this wave in it thorughout the day. every morning i would wake up blow dry my hair then straightening it but no matter what i did through out the day i would always get this wave. i would like to have my hair stay straight through out the whole day. any products or tips!? help!Anyone have any straightening hair tips?
1. Keep your flat iron clean. It will last longer and do less damage to your hair.

2. Use a styling aid to prevent frizz before you blow dry. Sealed Ends by BC Bonicure seal the ends of your hair locking out frizziness by 79 percent. Use it after your blow dry to get rid of frizz.

3. Practice before you head out to any major event. It's very easy to use once you get the knack of it.

4. When using the iron on your hair comb, on the section you are using first, before running the iron through it.

5. Try avoiding using any products until you finish straightening out your hair.

6. Use small sections. The smaller the section the flatter and more weightless your hair will be.

7. Use even pressure while stroking your flat iron from the root to the end without stopping on any part of the sectioned hair.

8. Use a wide bristle brush on your hair while brushing your desired shape into place.

9. Use a lightweight serum to smooth any frizz left over. You'll only need a little.

10. Let your iron cool; clean its surface with a cloth so you锟絣l be ready to use it again tomorrow.Anyone have any straightening hair tips?
go really slow over it, and use a big brush (with spaced out bristles)

don't straighten hair if it hasnt been brushed right before you srtaighten it (personally, i use the brush as a guide when i straighten mine, so the brush is right in front of the straightener)

also try to let your hair air dry for a little while before blowdrying it if you can. blowdrying ruins your hair (but then again, so does straighening) but hair stays the way it dries so if you blow dry your damp hair straight it'll turn out better. when you blow dry sopping wet hair, it gets frizzy and does whatever it wants
before you start, use a heat protectant spray, it causes less damage. and brush your hair thoroughly before you start. then, add a straightening cream before you start, and rub the product in generously. then, for the actual straightening, pin your top layers on the top of your head...and start with the bottom layers. after you straighten bits, comb them.

and after you straighten, add the cream and a hair spray to hold the style.

usually, garnier fructis has good products.
maybe your hair is naturally wavy! take it for advantage! most wavy hair is really pretty, like taylor swift. try showering at night and dont touch your hair after the shower. dont put it up in a towel, dont straighten it, dont put any products in it, DO NOT brush it (split ends) and dont play with it with your hands. leave it alone, and go to sleep. when you wake up in the morning, it should be your naturally wavy hair, if its not appealing, go straighten it. good luckkkk!
i've had this happen to me before soo many times and i really got sick of it. and then i tried buying a more expensive straightner with a higher temperature and that worked.. but if you want it to be really straight try taking a shower at night blow dry it and straighten it and in the morning straighten it again. but changing shampoo or conditioner or using frizz stuff will only take the frizz away, not the wave. hope this helps :]
o i hav had the same problem. I have smi-thick hair too. What i do is go by this saying ';the smaller the amout of hair you straighten the straighter that piece is'; it may not make sense but wat works for me is take small portions of ur hair and straighten like that. also clip up the parts youve straightened so you can get the more bottem layers that are usually the wavy part.
I have the same type of hair that is very long. This is what I do and the products I use. I wash my hair everyother day and it still looks just as fresh and straight the 2nd day.

Wash hair

Blowdry with a straightening Difuser (using a high heat serum)

Then section off your hair and begin to straighten.

Once you are done use the heat serum again to lock in moisture.

Bed Head Hairdryer

Bed Head Straightner

Any Super Moisture shampoo/cond. combo

High Heat Serum (I use John Frieda)
I have very thick extremelt curly hair. My straitener has a heat level on it....I put mine on the highest level which is 400 degrees. Put your on the hightest leve. But let me worn you your hair me get extremely frizzy like mine did. Its like if I didn't put it on 400 degrees, it would get curly throughout the day, but when I did if would get so dried out and frizzy. I don't use it anymore i just try to be happy with me hair....TRY, lol. Maybe if you put a calming gel on your hair.....the best brand is ';bed head';.....you can get it at wal-mart.
Straighten your hair the night before and make sure to do it in little tiny sections. It's a pain, but worth it I swear! Get a night cap (one of those old grandma silk ones) to put your hair in to sleep with. You should wake up with it looking nicer moisture wise, but will have to touch it up a tad in the morning.

Get a nice straightening serum, too, for dead ends and fly-aways.
I have a chi hair straightner, yeah, its expensive but get it off of ebay or go to Sally beauty supply, they have good flat irons at ok prices. If you have a conair, get rid of it. They are worthless. After blowdrying, use hairspray then Lean down and straighten your hair while its flipped over.
make sure you are using a salon quality CERAMIC straightener....it's the ceramic that does the trick...I can sleep on my naturally curly hair after straightening it with my ceramic and there isn't even a bump! Just a quick touchup for smoothing and I'm good to go!
Make sure your hair is REALLY dry before you start straightening it. If you don't your hair gets severly damaged. For the best straightening effect, wait for your iron to get REALLY hot before you start. Handle your hair in smaller pieces as well.
get a chi dear.

get shampoo specially made to have straight hair

and white its wet NO PONYTAILS or BUNS.

and try not to sleep on wet hair if you take your showers at night.

flat iron it in sections, like pin half your hair up and do the under layers and so on and so on.
Get a straightener that goes to a higher setting. Apparently your hair need more heat than yours currently gives off. Also, use a protective spray or you'll ruin it. And no, I'm not gay lol, but I do straighten my hair.
OMG yea a great product is frizz-ease from the jonfreda collection and i havnt bought it for a time so read the back i forgot how to use it and after a while of using that itl stay straight
IT DEPENDS THE STRAIGHTENER YOUR USING A GOOD STRAIGHTENER WOULD BE THE CHI GLOBAL BEAUTY ALSO TIME YOUR TIME IF ITS HUMID OUTSIDE ITLL PUFF UP ALSO IF YOUR HAIR IS THICK DONT PUT IT IN A PONY TAIL!!!

GOOD LUCK
1.Wet your hair.

2.Brush you hair and put alot of work into it.

3.Dry your hair with a blow dryer.

4.i think you`ll be set!
dont hold the straightner on one peice for too long. Do small pieces ..only exposing them to small amounts of heat at a time
use extra hold jell or a lot of hair spray.

i sgguest jell.

my hair is thick and taht seems to work out rpetty well.
Same here!!! I use dangerously straight spray! it works but first staighten your hair. Then spray it will look great!
my hair sounds exactly like yours and what i do is i use the chi ';want flat hair'; spray...it works really well on me!
go get ur hair done so it stays staight.
Use a mild shampoo and strong conditioner so that the hair is well protected. You must keep off from any heat -styling tools so as to prevent any damage to the hair. Regular deep conditioning of the hair can give it a healthier bounce and shine. Use good detangling products and wide -toothed comb for the hair after a straightening treatment.

Who want to add a bit of shine - Add a drop of silicone serum and watch the tresses bounce. A little care will go a long way in maintaining the straightened tresses.

If you are using a straightening iron to straighten your hair, use it with care, and use it sparingly. It can be very damaging if used often.

Blow-drying Hair Straight - Always use a protective product when styling your hair straight. Good tools are essential - use a blow-dryer with a strong air flow, not just a very hot one. If blow-drying hair straight regularly, use a treatment, weekly, to prevent your hair from drying out and frazzled ends.

Having your hair colored and using a straightener could result in damage to your hair. It's not that either of these are dangerous or damaging by themselves, but when they are combined, they can be simply too much for your poor old hair to handle.

Try booking a consultation with a straightening specialist and getting an opinion on whether a straightener would work with what is already on your hair. A professional hairdresser will often take what is called a ';test strand'; (basically a clipping of your hair) and pop it in to a bowl with the chemical straightener to assess its ability to remain in good condition. If the result is that you should not try this on your hair please take this advice.

For a temporary blow out of straight hair, the most effective way for a perfect finish is to apply straightening balm to each section as you go. A large paddle brush will give you poker straight hair, and a round brush will give you a softer curved finish.

With the most hair straightening products on the market today you can't permanently relax or straighten your hair if:

It has been permanently colored/tinted with a high volume strength peroxide or bleached. Even if only a little is left in the ends of your hair you will need to have it cut out first! Semi or non-permanent colors do not affect the ability to straighten hair chemically.

You swim in chlorine water often

You have fine blonde hair. It can be done but can look dry and damaged and frizz easily.

Here are my tips on hair straightening for people with wavy or slightly curly hair that want it straight but still healthy:

Wash with a regular shampoo that will remove buildup or at least prevent it.

Use a good conditioner that won't weigh hair down but still will condition it.

Once out of the shower, wring hair out until it doesn't drip anymore, then dry as much as possible with a towel.

Apply a little bit of straightening gel before blow drying and in between towel drying.

Blow dry by taking sections at a time and with a flat brush- it takes a while to master exactly how to straighten accurately but it's worth it.

Use a little bit of gel or cream or something to keep it straight and non-frizzy.

It should last for about 2 days, depending on temperatures.
