My hair was down to my mid-back and half of it was dead from highlighting it. When I got it cut to a bit past my shoulder, I was determined to grow it back out but healthy. Here's some tips.
ON KEEPING IT HEALTHY:
1. Eat a lot of protein. Granola has a lot, I eat 1/4 cup a day. You could just take a supplement though.
2. Don't brush more than you need to.
3. Always use a thermal protector when heat styling your hair.
4. Keep temperature in mind. Hair follicles are like skin pores: heat stimulates them, cool air relaxes them. For example, once a week, microwave your normal conditioner for 6 seconds. Smooth onto damp hair, keep in for 5 minutes and rinse in cool/cold water.
ON MAKING IT GROW FASTER:
1. Massage your scalp daily for 5 minutes. This increases blood flow to the head and makes it grow faster.
2. Avoid touching your hair. Also avoid processing it, aka colouring, dying, highlighting, bleaching, etc.
3. Get a trim every 6 to 8 weeks. No more than half an inch.
4. Apply conditioner to the ENDS ONLY (it weighs down your hair)
5. Don't wash everyday. The natural oils help hair growth.
I hope this helps! By doing this, my hair grew four inches in four months! What are some heathy hair tips while growing it out ?
make sure you condition very well. shy away from flat irons and other things like that. eat lots of protein so that it grows out healthy and shiny. get it trimmed just a little every 6-8 weeks just so that it grows out consistently. and if you use any kind of dye at all to get color back into it use a kind of semi or demi permanent hair dye, because it uses natural ingredients and doenst harm your hair.
just shampoo and condition with soemthing simple with not much stuff in it cuz u dont wana add chemicals and leave it natural and to dry by itself
Hey- I did the same thing after perming and dying my hair a lot. Definitely do weekly deep conditioning with a product designed for damaged hair. Leave-in conditioners make my hair feel less dry as well. Be sure to keep getting your hair trimmed regularly ( every 6-8 weeks). This seems counter-productive, but keeping the ends healthy prevents splits that can run up the hair shaft and lead to frizz and more damage!
Good luck- here's to healthy shiny locks!
Lavender oil has been shown to increase hair growth and strengthen it so massage the oil once a week and soak for 30 minutes before washing. Try http://solutionsforhairgrowth.blogspot.c鈥?/a> for more details.
